  • 1.5 Describe hazards that can produce a confined space
  • 1.6 Identify manufacturers’ instructions relating to the use of equipment
  • 1.7 Describe and use local site procedures

Understand how to work safely in confined spaces

  • 2.1 Explain how to assess risk for working safely in confined spaces
  • 2.2 Explain how to reduce the risk to an acceptable level for the work to be carried out
  • 2.3 Explain how to prepare and check equipment and tools prior to use
  • 2.4 Explain how to use equipment and tools safely
  • 2.5 Explain the roles within a team working in a confined space
  • 2.6 Explain the precautions to take when working alone

Understand how to deal with emergencies

  • 3.1 Explain how emergency situations can arise in a confined space
