This First Responder training course is the Ofqual accredited IPOS or Initial Person on the Scene of an Accident qualification and is designed to train individuals how to deal with an incident, If you teach first aid why not consider this course in place of your First Aid at Work re-qualification, it will increase your knowledge of casualty care, taking your first aid to another level - that of a First Responder. Your certificate will be through TQUK as the awarding body.
Other awarding organisations have also developed more advanced first aid qualifications that employers and their first aiders may choose from, that are awarded at level 3 and include other qualification titles such as FPOS, FROS, FREC IPOS etc. All these awards follow exactly the same syllabus, but have different names as they are from different awarding bodies. Ultimately your course will be as good as the experience and knowledge of your instructor, regardless of which agency it is.
Our open courses are held at our training centre in Abercynon but we can deliver onsite for groups anywhere you may require.
Completing your course in a blended format using our online course saves time in the classroom and allows you to have a more practical lesson, moving some of the theory online.
During this training some of the things you will learn are different immobilisation techniques used in treating different injuries, the correct use of spinal boards and scoop stretchers to immobilise and transport a patient, advanced airway management, emergency oxygen use and how to work with a team to treat a patient.
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level two in literacy and numeracy or equivalent. The qualification is suitable for learners of 16 years of age and above.
This course can be taken as a blended course, saving a day by completing our video online course prior to attending the practical part or 100% in the classroom nationwide.
